About Me.
My name is Caroline Odum. I am 17 and a junior at Johnson High School. I am a Christ follower who seeks to show his love to others through caring for their physical needs.
MENTORSHIP
I am completing my mentorship at The Oaks, an assisted living facility in Gainesville, Georgia. My mentor is Mrs. Ginger Moore. WHAT I DO
I shadow a variety of nurses, which allows me to see differing viewpoints on assisted living and nursing. I watch them as they chart and pass out medicine. I also check vitals, feed patients, or anything that the nurses need me to do. WHAT I HAVE LEARNED
I have learned much at my mentorship. I am now certain that I want to become a nurse, although I do not necessarily want to go into geriatrics. I have also learned how to chart, take vitals, and many other practical tools. HOW THIS WILL HELP ME Through this mentorship, I have decided that I want to become a nurse. Although my goal is to get my RN, I am trying to become a CNA. After being in an assisted living facility, I now know the roles of a CNA, and I will be more comfortable working as one. |
